3 DECEMBER 2017, PASIR GUDANG :- Concerned with the fate of the less fortunate especially those living in the rural areas, the Johor Port Authority (LPJ) through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative has implemented a "Back to School" programme. The main purpose of this programme is to provide assistance for low-income students to procure school supplies in preparation for 2018 school term.
A total of 45 students comprised of primary and secondary school students in the Pasir Gudang area aged between 7 to 16 years old received school supplies such as school uniforms, shoes, bags and stationery. The aim of the programme is to help ease the burden of underprivileged parents in preparing their children's school equipment with the hope that they are inspired and motivated in life, especially in their education.
This CSR programme was assisted by 17 LPJ volunteers during the purchase of school supplies which was held at Mydin Mall, Taman Rinting, Johor. The children are also delighted with the Marrybrown lunch treat at the end of the programme.
