PASIR GUDANG, 5th November 2017 - The opening ceremony of the Port Industry Training Programme was held at Wisma Kontena Johor Port Berhad which was officiated by YAB Dato’ Mohamed Khaled Bin Nordin, the Chief Minister of Johor. Johor Port Authority (JPA) also participated in the event organized by Johor Port Berhad (JPB) where a Memorandum of Understanding between Johor Port Authority (JPA), represented by Mr Muhammad Razif Ahmad, General Manager of LPJ and JPB by Tuan Hj. Shahrull Alam Shah Abdul Halim, Chief Executive Officer of JPB witnessed by the Chief Minister of Johor. The Memorandum of Understanding is a strategic partnership between Port Centre Of Excellence (PCOE) and Johor Port Skills Centre (JPSC).
Through the PCOE platform under JPA’s agenda, JPSC has successfully received the certificate from the Department of Skills Development (JPK) as a Chartered Centre (CC) and is the first CC in Malaysia to implement the Maritime Sector Program in NOSS (National Occupational Standard Skills) under the Container Port Equipment Operations field code.
During the programme, an Exercise Exchanges Agreement was sealed between Johor Port Berhad and Pelindo IV represented by the Main Director of Pelindo IV, Doso Agung.
Also present at the ceremony are the Chairman of Johor Port Authority & Port Authority of Johor (Tanjung Pelepas) Datuk Abd Rahim Bin Ramli, Chief Executive Officer of MMC Port Holdings Sdn. Bhd, Ian James and General Consulate of Indonesia, Mr. Haris Nugroho.
