JOHOR BAHRU, 30 OCTOBER 2017 – Johor Port Authority (JPA) today organised the Johor Port Authority Port Week or better known as JPA Port Week 2017 which was officiated by En. Khairul Adib Bin Abd Rahman, Deputy Secretary General (Policy), Ministry of Transport Malaysia at Double Tree by Hilton, Johor Bahru. JPA Port Week is an annual event and this 4th year’s event is titled “Promoting Johor As A Distribution Hub”. In his speech, En Khairul Adib informed on the importance of the community system at the port where JPA had developed and implemented the port system i.e. Port Traffic Management System (PTMS) and eGateway.

This year’s JPA Port Week was held for six (6) days from 28th October until 2nd November, where the Ports of Treasure Hunt and Meet the Customers Day (HBP) at AEON Jusco, Permas Jaya were held as curtain raiser of the program. JPA Port Week is an annual event organized by JPA in collaboration with Johor Port Berhad (JPB) and Port of Tanjung Pelepas Sdn. Bhd. (PTP).

The objective of JPA Port Week is to introduce and promote ports in Johor known as Malaysia's Southern Gateways to the community, thus promoting the convenience and services offered to the port users. Agencies under the Ministry of Transport (MOT) such as the Road Transport Department (JPJ), the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA), and other Port Authorities also participated in the programme such as in the exhibition in introducing their services to the public. Not to mention the innovative exhibition from schools involved in presenting their innovative products. A total of 30 exhibitors are involved in this HBP exhibition.

Apart from these activities, a two-day Port Week Conference 2017, which runs from 30th and 31st October, is one of LPJ's Port Centre of Excellence (PCOE) initiatives in which this year’s theme is “Promoting Johor As A Distribution Hub”. As many as 17 guest speakers pick from Malaysia and other countries shared their experience and latest update to 250 participants this year.

Additionally, JPA also held the Bunkering Forum 2017 and the G2B Symposium on 1st November at Double Tree by Hilton, Johor Bahru. A Career Talk was also organised on 2nd November at UTM, Skudai and at the same night, a religious talk was held at the Mawar Hall, Pasir Gudang where a popular speaker, Ustaz Syed Mohd Norhisyam Al-Idrus was invited as the guest speaker. This talk is open to the public and all invitees were present during the talk.
