Signing Ceremony of Changi Ferry Terminal Supplementary Agreement between Johor Port Authority and Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore
Supplementary Agreement Signing Ceremony between the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and Johor Port Authority (JPA) was held on May 5th, 2015 in Singapore. The agreement was signed by Mr. Razif Muhammad Bin Ahmad, General Manager of JPA, which was witnessed by Mr Chua Kok Ching, JPA Deputy Secretary-General (Operations) and representative from Singapore, Mr. Andrew Tan, Chief Executive MPA , witnessed by Mr. Lee Chuan Teck, Singapore Ministry of Transport.
The purpose of these agreements is to add additional ferry routes from Changi Bay North (Changi Ferry Terminal) to other destinations in the state of Johor. Prior to this, the ferry service from Changi Bay North (Changi Ferry Terminal) travels only to one destination, the Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal (FTB). FTB is known as the third entrance of Singapore other than the Causeway and Second Link.
Thus, with this agreement sealed, marks an additional entrance from Singapore to Johor (Malaysia). This latest addition is expected to result in an increase of the total number of tourists entering Malaysia which in turn helps to generate the national income.
