Other Collaborations

Johor Port Authority is also actively involved with other agencies/institutions in various forms of cooperation from the aspect of maritime industry development to the preservation of the environment.

 

Listed below are the list of signed collaboration / memorandum of understanding:

AGENCY/INSTITUTION FORM OF COOPERATION
PT Pelabuhan Indonesia 1 (PELINDO 1) 

A Memorandum of Understranding (MOU) between JPA and PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (PELINDO 1) was signed on 29 December 2017.

The MOU was signed to establish a cooperative relationship between JPA and PELINDO 1 especially in the areas of port studies, training, information exchange, technical assistance and traffic development and promotion of services that can be provided between JPB, PTP and PELINDO 1.

Iskandar Halal Park  (IHP)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between JPA and the IHP was signed on 18 March 2018.

The MOU is a starting point for achieving common objectives in moving towards the development of Johor as a halal hub and halal logistics hub that is linked to significant halal economic and trade development, especially to Johor ports.

 Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (MGTC)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on 6 October 2016.

This collaboration is to carry out Sustainable Project 2016-2018 to upgrade the Public Works Department Green Rating (PH) for JPA headquarters building from 3 to 5 star rating. This project refers to JPA Green Port Policy 2014-2020, under the programme promoting sustainability using green technology initiatives and best practices to mitigate the impact on the environment. In addition, it is also based on the 6th Strategic Thrust of the 11th Malaysia Plan, in which the government has set a target of 20% Government Green Acquisitions by 2020 to realize the green development agenda and production goals and sustainable use.

 Vessel Traffic Monitoring System (VTMS)

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between JPA -  PTP on January 8, 2015 and JPA - JPB on September 11, 2017 to develop & upgrade the Vessel Traffic Management System (VTMS) system. It is a joint venture project for the regulation of traffic and shipping operations within the Tg Pelepas port limits and Pasir Gudang Port limits.

 Anak Alami Enterprise (Kelab Alami)

JPA and Anak Alami Enterprise have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on April 29, 2018. The purpose of this MOU is to conduct a study on the species of Dugong, Otters and Seahorses at the waters off Tg Pelepas. This study is one of the initiatives for the purpose of preserving the habitat of the species and the natural heritage of the Tg Pelepas watershed.
