GREEN PORT POLICY

As a responsible port authority, Johor Port Authority (JPA) is very concerned on balancing physical development and environmental sustainability. The environment must not be sacrificed for the sake of development and economic progress.

With this aspiration, we have developed the Green Port Policy framework which forms as a long-term plan in determining the direction of future port development and operations which minimises its impact to the environment. The Green Port Policy was officially launched on 13 October 2014 which aimed at action plan for the period of 2014 – 2020. This policy acts as a guideline in developing green initiatives action plan at JPA, port operators and stakeholders’ level. This policy will be updated based on the current requirement either on national or international level.

We in JPA believes that this effort will bring a great impact to future generation which enable them to benefit what the environment has to offer, as to what we have benefited from it today.

6. Developed the Ship Emission Management System (SEMS) in which carbon monoxide emissions of all vessels operating within Johor Port waters will be measured; and

7. Hydrodynamic Simulation project was conducted within the Tanjung Pelepas port limit
