1000 AFFECTED FAMILIES RECEIVE SUPPLY OF GOODS & NECESSITIES
FROM YB MINISTER OF TRANSPORT IN COLLABORATION
WITH JOHOR PORT AUTHORITY
October 9, 2021, Ayer Hitam- About 1000 families in the Ayer Hitam constituency, Johor affected by the COVID-19 pandemic were given food boxes containing necessities such as rice, wheat flour, sugar, cooking oil and others through a food box donation program jointly held between the Ministry of Transport (MOT) and the Johor Port Authority (LPJ).
The MOT in collaboration with LPJ under the LPJ Cares program has implemented the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program to help those affected by the loss of income. This program is part of the government's initiatives under the National Recovery Plan to help the affected people through various alternatives.
The donation package for the food boxes was handed over by Tuan Haji Rosnan Bin Fathlal, Chairman of LPJ to YB Datuk Seri Ir. Dr. Wee Ka Siong, Minister of Transport Malaysia in a ceremony on 9 October 2021. Together during the event were En. Kamaruzaman Bin Haji Munasir, General Manager of LPJ and senior ministry officials. The Honorable Minister also presented the donation package of goods and necessities to the affected p-hailing food riders in the area.
This pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 has resulted in many individuals, workers and businesses being affected by the strains on jobs, business and livelihoods. Previously, such contributions have also been carried out by the Honorable Minister of Transport in the constituency to ensure assistance continue to reach the rakyat and benefit the affected groups.
The Johor Port Authority wishes to support and contribute to this cause through its corporate social responsibility initiatives under the LPJ Cares programme to help bring some relief to the less fortunate and together drive economic growth and strengthen the well -being of the community and the affected groups regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs.
